** Greenleaf
————————————————————

Greenleaf is an award winning, seasonally inspired farm to table restaurant from chef Chris Viaud. Located in an old historic bank in Milford, New Hampshire, Greenleaf’s name was inspired by the Boston based architect who made the first update to the building in 1904, Luther Greenleaf. Their approach to the food and drink program is inspired by the changing seasons of New England utilizing local area farms, foragers and fishmongers. Reserve your table to celebrate the best cuisine of the fall season (https://www.greenleafmilford.com/) .

Thank you for helping us feed delicious, local food to neighbors in need through the Local Food Donation and SNAP Delivery Donation programs.

Check out the new Community page on our website (https://www.threeriverfa.com/donation/) sharing some of the community resource centers we partner with, to deliver food to on a regular basis.

We exercise the belief that local food is for everyone by providing nutrient rich produce to the food insecure; simultaneously reducing waste and increasing income to local producers. Three River Farmers Alliance has created a simple, efficient program for providing weekly donations from our generous contributors used to purchase excess crops at cost from local farms. We then distribute produce to local food pantries within our community. We use additional donations to supplement credits for SNAP eligible Veggie-Go customers ensuring all donations directly assist in the fight against hunger.

As we near the colder months, nutrition becomes even more important. In order to expand upon our existing services, we ask if you are able, to add a financial donation to your Veggie-GO order this week. We are so grateful for your generosity and community support!

Karl’s Salsa
“This salsa was created by my partner, Karl, in the midst of last September’s tomato abundance while I was busy canning a bunch of whole tomatoes. The addition of sweet Italian frying peppers and parsley really makes this salsa special. It’s a wonderful blend of sweet and savory to celebrate summer’s end. This makes approximately one pint-size serving of salsa. Enjoy!”
-Perri Krywick, 3RFA Admin Assistant

Ingredients
1lb Heirloom Tomatoes, cored and sliced in half (Heron Pond Farm)
2 Sweet Italian Frying Peppers (Hungry Heart Farm)
1-2 Jalapeno Peppers (Heron Pond Farm)
1 Habanero Pepper (optional for extra spice)
1 Tbs Sunflower Oil (Yost Farms)
1/2 Yellow Onion, diced (Brandmoore Farm)
2- 3 Tbs Lemon Juice
1 large Garlic Clove, minced (Willoughby Farm)
1 Tbs fresh Parsley, chopped (Wild Fern Farm)
A generous pinch of Cumin
Salt and Pepper

Directions

Set your oven to broil, place the peppers and tomatoes, cut side down, on a baking sheet. Turn the peppers a few times while broiling and cook until the peels are blackened in parts. Remove the peels if desired and chop the tomatoes and peppers making sure to save all the juices. Set them aside to cool.

In a medium pan set to medium heat, add oil, and saute the onion, garlic, cumin salt, and pepper until the onion is soft and a little translucent. Add tomatoes, peppers, and lemon juice and cook to reduce the liquid for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat to let cool and stir in fresh parsley. Adjust the seasoning to taste once cooled.

Serve with Vida Tortilla Chips!
